 July 15, 2008:
System Maintenance:
Lighthouse will perform system maintenance on July 25th at 12:00AM ending at 4:00AM. There could be brief interruptions of service and web services during this maintenance. Please schedule any internet use accordingly. 

March 14, 2008:
Old LightSpeed Accelerator End of Life:
The New LightSpeed Accelerator has been sent out to all current users with instructions for updating. The old version will no longer function after March 17th, 2008 (Monday). Please be sure that you have upgraded and have the new improved version running on your system. If you have any questions or problems updating, just email or call our free Internet technical support.


March 4, 2008:
WildBlue Updates FAP:
WildBlue has announced the following change to their Fair Access Policy effective immediatley; "We will notify you via your WildBlue contact email address if your Usage Total reaches 80% or more of the Usage Threshold. If at any time your Usage Total is above the Usage Threshold, your usage has violated the FAP and we will reduce your WildBlue access speeds, typically to 128 kbps in the downstream (for the Internet to you) and 28 kbps in the upstream (from you to the Internet), and you may experience a loss of connectivity during peak usage periods (collectively, "Reduced Access"). Once your speeds have been reduced, you must decrease your usage to bring your Usage Total to 70% or less of the Usage Threshold. Once your Usage Total reaches this level, your access speeds will be restored to the original speed levels by the next day."

Routine Maintenance will be performed at Midnight on Tuesday the 26th of February continuing until 3AM on Wednesday morning the 27th. There could be brief outages on some network areas during this time so please plan accordingly.

With the announcement of Netscape's End of Life, Lighthouse recommends Microsoft Windows users switch to Mozilla Firefox (version 2 or above) www.firefox.com or Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE version 6 or above). Mozilla Firefox is our prefered browser for your Internet connection. Please download Firefox or change to Internet Explorer and discontinue using Netscape as soon as possible to insure you have trouble free Internet access. 


December 21, 2007:
System Maintenance for St Ignace LightWave Canopy!
We will be upgrading our St Ignace LightWave broadcast points over this weekend (the 22nd & 23rd) to improve service and allow for future enhancements. This software upgrade will be done at off peak hours to limit any issues. Please be aware that the St Ignace LightWave customers could experience brief interruptions in service during this upgrade.

Mandatory Email Change!
To insure the security of your emails, you must to set your email client for "secure" to send Lighthouse email. Lighthouse is now blocking outgoing email that is not authenticated. Please check our "News" page in "About Lighthouse" for instructions on setting Authenticate in Outlook Express or check the Help in your email client. As always, we are here to help with free telephone technical support.

November 5, 2007:
Email authentication will be required for all email users!
You have to set your email client for "secure" to send email. In Outlook Express under “Tools” chose “Accounts”, select the email account (click once to highlight) then click “Properties”, under the Properties Screen choose “Servers” tab, near the bottom of this screen put a check in the box for “My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication” (just authenticate and not secure). If you use other email clients just look for the “authentication” box or you can use the Help provided by the program.
