Lighthouse no longer sends out all user emails. With all the Spam and Junk emails that try to copy our formats we have decided to eliminate bulk emails in order to give you better and more reliable communications.


Cable TV Dispute Resolution Process:

Lighthouse.Net will work diligently with you to resolve any disputes concerning its Cable TV Services or billing as expeditiously as possible. Should you have a dispute please contact Lighthouse Customer Service at 888-883-3393 during our office hours of 8AM to 5PM EST, M-F. If you call after hours, please leave a detailed message with contact information and your account number. You may also contact us in person at our office or by USPS at: Lighthouse.Net, ATTN: Customer Dispute, 2972 W 8th Street, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. Or you can email your dispute to: Please use the "read receipt" option on your email to insure it was delivered to the correct email address and for your confirmation of receipt. We will work with you to resolve any disputes within 60 days of notice and strive to provide a reasonable solution for you. During the 60 day dispute period, Lighthouse will not terminate your Cable TV service provided you have paid all or any undisputed portion of your past and current bills. Failure to pay for undisputed bills may result in service termination. We ask that you work cooperatively with us to quickly resolve any disputes in a timely manner.

If after the 60 days, you feel your dispute was not resolved to your satisfaction or you feel your dispute has not been addressed you may opt to contact the Michigan Public Service Commission about your Cable TV service.  They can be contacted by phone at 1-800-292-9555. Update to stop botnets:
Botnets operate in the background without any warning. They affect your computers operation and steal your personal information. Keep your OS up to date, run anti-virus, anti-malware and have a firewall on your system. If you have any questions we offer free support to our subscribers and our service department has discounted rates for subscribers. We can clean up your PC and get it up to date for you. Be smart and secure, keep your system updated!

Email Scams Continue:
Fake emails saying "delivery failure", change or update your infomation, warning of credit card, paypal, ebay and other account problems as well as those asking for information and requesting you click on links are a continuing problem for Internet users.
These emails are scams so please do not follow any of these links or pass along any information. As always please do not give information out over the net and if you have any questions, call us. We are here to help.

Resolved Issue: CenturyTel Users in 297 and 478 areas:
Lighthouse access numbers: (297-6906 and 478-6606) are now working properly. The connections that were delayed by CenturyTel are now complete and all is working properly. Thank you to all our affected subscribers for your cooperation and patience. Anyone who was using the alternate numbers needs to change back to the original access number for your area. We apologize for any inconvenience. 

July 24, 2009:
CenturyTel Users in 297 and 478 areas:
The Lighthouse access number: 297-6906 and 478-6606 are having access issues. We had a panned cutover earlier in July that was delayed by CenturyTel and is now affecting our access for those areas. Lighthouse has contacted the MPSC about CenturyTel's delays and we expect this to be resolved soon. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Server Maintenance:

Lighthouse will be performing server maintenance on Wednesday morning April 15, 2009 from 12:00AM to 02:00AM EST. There will be brief outages during this maintenance period so please plan accordingly.

April 7, 2009:
You may receive an email asking for your user name and password from "LIGHTHOUSE ADMIN". It is a FAKE and was not sent by Lighthouse. Do not respond to this email, delete it. As with any email asking for information, do not respond and contact the company directly via email or phone. This is especially important for credit cards or account information!

News Server Ending:
Our News Server ( service use has been decreasing with all the new options available on the web. Because of the limited use it is no longer feasibile to offer this free service. If you are using our News Server please be aware that we will end this service on February 1st, 2009. Please contact us for other free news server options.

Holiday Hours:
Our office will be closed on December 25th and 26th so our staff can spend time with familiy and friends for the holiday. Internet technical support will still be available by phone for our customers as always.

March 14, 2008:
Old LightSpeed Accelerator End of Life:
The New LightSpeed Accelerator has been sent out to all current users with instructions for updating. The old version will no longer function after March 17th, 2008 (Monday). Please be sure that you have upgraded and have the new improved version running on your system. If you have any questions or problems updating, just email or call our free Internet technical support.

March 4, 2008:
WildBlue Updates FAP:
WildBlue has announced the following change to their Fair Access Policy effective immediatley; "We will notify you via your WildBlue contact email address if your Usage Total reaches 80% or more of the Usage Threshold. If at any time your Usage Total is above the Usage Threshold, your usage has violated the FAP and we will reduce your WildBlue access speeds, typically to 128 kbps in the downstream (for the Internet to you) and 28 kbps in the upstream (from you to the Internet), and you may experience a loss of connectivity during peak usage periods (collectively, "Reduced Access"). Once your speeds have been reduced, you must decrease your usage to bring your Usage Total to 70% or less of the Usage Threshold. Once your Usage Total reaches this level, your access speeds will be restored to the original speed levels by the next day."

Netscape Users
With the announcement of Netscape's End of Life, Lighthouse recommends Microsoft Windows users switch to Mozilla Firefox (version 2 or above) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE version 6 or above). Mozilla Firefox is our prefered browser for your Internet connection. Please download Firefox or change to Internet Explorer and discontinue using Netscape as soon as possible to insure you have trouble free Internet access. 

December 21, 2007:
System Maintenance for St Ignace LightWave Canopy!
We will be upgrading our St Ignace LightWave broadcast points over this weekend (the 22nd & 23rd) to improve service and allow for future enhancements. This software upgrade will be done at off peak hours to limit any issues. Please be aware that the St Ignace LightWave customers could experience brief interruptions in service during this upgrade.

Mandatory Email Change!
To insure the security of your emails, you must to set your email client for "secure" to send Lighthouse email. Lighthouse is now blocking outgoing email that is not authenticated. Please check our "News" page in "About Lighthouse" for instructions on setting Authenticate in Outlook Express or check the Help in your email client. As always, we are here to help with free telephone technical support.

November 5, 2007:
Email authentication will be required for all email users!
You have to set your email client for "secure" to send email. In Outlook Express under “Tools” chose “Accounts”, select the email account (click once to highlight) then click “Properties”, under the Properties Screen choose “Servers” tab, near the bottom of this screen put a check in the box for “My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication” (just authenticate and not secure). If you use other email clients just look for the “authentication” box or you can use the Help provided by the program.
